Just three
average miracles
today
first
discovering one last
ziploc of
summer's raspberries
I picked them myself
in the woods
frozen
then thawed
in my oatmeal
oh heaven
later
sinking my hand
deep in lentils
at the bulk food section
eyes closed
no one watching
I was lentils
and then
the little junco
that got trapped
on the back porch
I caught
and cupped him
black eyes shining
we regarded each other
he was
so grey
so quiet
so quickly gone.
